Canada’s New, Dangerous Sex Work Laws Come into Effect

On a day when Canadian’s are mourning the loss of 14 women to gender-based violence 25 years ago, our new sex work laws come into effect. Laws that will endanger sex workers. Terribly disappointing.

It also includes other orifices, but the ass ones are what always get the guffaws. Part of me wants to scold people, say that sex products are a click away and sometimes even deliverable within the hour (if you can’t make it to a sex shop). Another part of me knows some people *just can’t* purchase such items. To look down my nose or feel empathy for is a tricky balancing act.

However, this piece, while very interesting, had me confused right from the beginning because I feel a part of the narrative has been left out.
