I’ve been intrigued by the concept of PTSD and “violent” sex since reading Mac McClelland’s work. However, this piece, while very interesting, had me confused right from the beginning because I feel a part of the narrative has been left out.
Since when has pegging been, automatically, equated with violent sex?
She does address this at the end of the piece, but it really seems something was cut or left out near the beginning. Or is that how she really felt about strap-on sex, that it had to be about domination, that that penetration had to be about violence? It certainly can.
Because it most definitely does not have to be.
