I’m sorry, but why are parents being consulted on potential new sex education curriculum in Ontario? Are teachers and government officials not they experts? They set curriculum in all other subject matters…but this, we have to ask parents? If you were to ask parents to do a curriculum survey in any other subject, you’d likely just get glazed eyes and blank stares.
I expect no less than a debacle. And why should the parent council head be the one? I am sure there will many who are unqualified or entirely biased. How will these people be chosen? I’ve stayed away from school parent groups for sometime because I find them toxic, but now I want to get back involved because this survey should be taken by someone with knowledge and a level-head.
