Bryan Reeves is certainly entitled to his opinions on porn and why he gave it up (they are opinions and conjecture, remember), but here are mine (in response) on why I am not, and have no intention to ever give up porn:
- Learned Preferences
Good porn helps me understand and appreciate the things I like in sex and accentuates my kinks and preferences…and that makes my dick even harder during sex! - Orgasm Training
Porn, I’d say, has actually helped train me to last longer. With porn I can speed up, slow down, hold off and train myself to stop altogether when I feel I need to. I learn to recognize the signs of impeding load blowing. I can then use that when I am with a partner. - Enjoying Personal Time
I enjoy my personal, self-pleasuring time and consider it a necessary part of my mental health requirements. It gives me pause for thought, good feelings and erotic charge. Pretty much any activity someone isn’t interested in is a “waste of time” to someone else, so Bryan, I’m sorry, this was a terrible point to include. - I Have No Expectations of Partners
Porn does not inform my opinion or thoughts of partners. I’m smarter than that. I’ve taken a bit of time in my life to understand that media does not represent anyone properly or with clarity. When I watch porn, I enjoy the experience, but I know the people involved are putting out a commercial product for pleasure purposes. I create my expectations of partners, women and men, by talking to them, reading their books, getting to know them. - Trafficking and Slavery is a World-Wide Issue in Many Industries
Are you enjoying fruit this morning? Then you might be enjoying the fruits of slavery and trafficking? Have you stayed in a hotel? A trafficked person might have cleaned up after you? Where’d you buy that shirt? Was it ethically produced?
Yes, porn, like many, many other industries has a nasty side to it.
The key is to see out ethically-produced porn. Just type that in and see what you come up with. You can get all hot and bothered and feel comfortable.
Good luck keeping your hands clean. If that is what works for you, go for it. But don’t preach that you’ve some learned position on porn.
