Public Perception of Sexologists Damaged by Arrest?

I am not a fan of how this article is written, but this particular case brings to light difficult issues for sexology.

A convicted sex offender conducting “research” on virgins because he is now a student of sexology? That kind of news can invalidate the good work of so many people.

Should he have been screened before he was allowed in whatever program he is in? Should schools have a responsibility to not admit at-risk students?

Public perception of sexology and sex research is tenuous at best. Let’s hope this remains an isolated case.
