Where we go, what we do, who takes care of us…these are concerns for everyone as we age. However, if you are someone from a stigmatized community, your options may be significantly more limited.
I am very interested in learning more about Carmen Munoz’s shelter for retired or mostly retired sex workers in Mexico City. These women don’t have the safe, easy retired life of old age. These photos by Bénédicte Desrus are a fascinating depiction of their lives.
Do other areas offer this type of shelter? If they have the financial stability, are sex workers welcomed in retirement homes?
