Very interesting takeaway from the Feminist Porn Awards. Playboy‘s writer seemed to have a good time. Seemed to get the event and seemed to get an understanding of the people. But at the end concludes that she doesn’t think the world is “ready to be aware of all of the things that go into what they’re jerking off to yet.”
Well, no, close-minded people are rarely ready for change. Whether that be confronting racism, sexism, ablism…you know, all the isms. So, I’m glad that Playboy, perhaps the ultimate in mainstream publications, was represented at the event. However, throwing that line in at the end is a tacit agreement to keep the feminist and ethical porn movement under the radar.
Not only are people ready for this…it is already happening. And it is just going to get bigger and better!
