Tell Me Something Good: April Sexy Storytelling Slam – Feminist Porn Awards Week Special!

Inspired by Bawdy Storytelling in California, Tell Me Something Good brings sexy storytelling to Toronto! Samantha Fraser and Sophie Delancey are your lovely co-hosts every month for your storytelling pleasure. Tell Me Something Good is your opportunity to share short stories of sexual glory, gaffes, and growth for the chance to win sexy prizes. You sign up and we’ll toss names into a hat to pick up to 10-15 storytellers for slots of up to 5 minutes each. There are points for engaging with the audience (so don’t just read the whole thing!) and it must be a true story!
This month we are returning to the Melody Bar at the Gladstone Hotel. Also, this event will be free once again, so make sure you show up early to grab your seat.
Doors at 8 with some fun warm-up activities, including Truth or Dare.
Storytelling kicks off at 9 pm sharp!
This time around we go until midnight, so stay and party!
This month’s theme is, in honour of the upcoming Feminist Porn Awards, “Visuals and Voyeurs”. We want to hear your sexy stories that touch on anything related to watching others, being watched, making your own porn, watching porn, being walked IN on while watching porn, reading erotica … if it has to do with getting off and other people? We want to hear it. Don’t be afraid to stretch the theme a little if you need to, but do *try* and stay on topic. (You’ll get more points!)
We’ll have an esteemed panel of judges who will start the night off with a few of their own stories and then rank each entry to choose our winners at the end of the night.
Judge #1 Announced!
Our first judge is Kate Sinclaire! Kate is a multitasking sex industry force from Winnipeg. She launched her soft porn site, Cherrystems.com, in 2007, and found her way to representing Fuze Toys via youtube toy reviews. Fuze is an amazing silicone toy company from Peterborough, Ontario, set to change the landscape of body safe pleasure. Kate is now launching her newest project, Cinema Sinclaire, in 2014 – a video-based site that focuses on authentic sexual experience. From kink to vanilla, big and small, and all things in between, Kate aims to represent sex the way it happens in the wild of our bedrooms.
Judge #2 Announced!
Our next judge is Jon Pressick! Jon is the sexual community’s gadabout. Some days he’s the new editor of the Best Sex Writing series. Some days he’s hard at work writing about sex news, sex bloggers and erotica on Sex in Words. Some days he’s one of the hosts and the producer of Sex City. Some days he’s a proud parent and partner. What is he doing all of the days? Thinking about sex!
Judge #3 Announced!
Tobi Hill-Meyer – Tobi made her film making debut, winning an Award for Emerging Filmmaker of the year and being named #3 in Velvet Park Media’s list of the 25 Most Significant Queer Women of 2010. She is a multiracial trans woman with over a decade experience working with feminist and LGBTQ organizations on a local, state, and federal level. She’s since has turned her focus to media analysis and productions. As a writer, producer, and filmmaker, she is a founding member and major contributor to the media collective, Handbasket Productions.
Judge #4 Announced!
Ms. Naughty is a feminist porn filmmaker and writer. She has been making and curating porn for straight women online since 2000. Her erotic films have screened at several international film festivals including Cinekink and the Berlin Porn Film Festival. She has a chapter detailing her work in “The Feminist Porn Book”, edited by Tristan Taormino et al.. Her fiction has featured in several editions of “Best Women’s Erotica”. She runs BrightDesire.com, an adult site that features all her films, and blogs about feminism, sex and porn at MsNaughty.com/blog!
