I love the game, but I hate the player. More specifically, I hate hockey culture. I stopped playing when I was young (I was definitely no Gretzky), but even by that time I look back at how mysogynistic, homophobic and racist that culture is. Were either of my kids interested in playing, I’d have been very cautious, be they male or female.
