Toronto’s mayoral race is heating up, with former Rob Ford supporter Carlie Ritch, aka Mizz Barbie Bitch entering the race. Bitch is a well-known local dominatrix who will definitely bring some new ideas to the race. From this article she seems to be another right/centrist entering the fray—a crowded side to be on.
I hope her entering does not devolve into ridiculous notoriety. I can see the images that’ll be popping up all over the internet now. And the late night shows? I’m sure they’ll have a field day with it.
But is it possible to balance a serious image while honouring her profession (even though she wants to push a redlight district out of downtown)? Part of me wants her to be out there with a crop, making puns and the “Whipping Toronto into Shape” is a great slogan. But Toronto has really taken a beating these past few years and needs serious revitalization.
I look forward to seeing how she proceeds with her campaign.
