Everyone likes a little romance and most everyone needs to be money-conscious. Funny thing is, a bunch of things on this list aren’t actually all that cheap. And I’m not just being a penny-pincher here. I have a very razor-thin personal budget. Going out once a week and getting a babysitter? Not cheap. Good coffee, wine and decadent desserts? Not cheap. Ride the ferris wheel? Amusement parks are definitely not cheap.
I am very lucky that neither my partner nor I are swayed by luxury or even “fine” things. We are more like, “yeah, that’s fine.” Because of this, little things like making each other a meal, offering a backrub, cleaning the snow off each other’s car, offering to take the dog out in the rain, a kiss on the neck…these are the “things” that matter to us.
