This video has a strong and valid point: sex workers and their clients can be an integral part of identifying and reporting trafficking victims. However, to do so would put their own safety in risk.
Now that Canada’s sex work laws are being reviewed and new, potentially-“Nordic Model” legislation will be introduced, this theory should be explored. If we want to reduce trafficking, ensure that sex workers and clients can safely report potential victims and traffickers they come in contact with—without fear of legal reprisal.
