Is it just me or does this not seem a natural movement in advertising? And, why has it taken this long?
That’s the power of stigma and misunderstanding. I bet many businesses would greatly benefit from promotion on porn sites. And in a backhanded sort of way, those porn sites would benefit as well.
Why is the idea backhanded? Well, I’m never comfortable with the mainstream legitimizing an already legitimate-but-stigmatized business. Porn should have, long ago, been recognized as a the valuable entertainment that it is. But…if getting mainstream advertisers on reputable porn sites helps the porn cause, well…I’ll take it.
