The inimitable Terri-Jean Bedford has posted six questions to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government. These excellent queries are essential to any conversation that happens as Harper considers potential legislation in response to the Court decision striking down 3 sex work laws. Currently, it is believed the Harper caucus is considering the “Nordic Model”—despite significant evidence that that model has been a failure.
The six questions posed by Bedford are simple but key. Clear, strong language and definitions will be needed to ensure further court challenges don’t bog this issue down.
