I’ve always had a theory about why men and women actually orgasm—and it doesn’t have anything to do with infidelity of either (though I greatly appreciated reading this article by Dr. Justin Lehmiller).
Does it seem obvious that we cum to ensure that we continue fucking? Humans are lazy and picky creatures. We do things, primarily, out of significant need or when we are seeking pleasure. We are also, in my opinion, inherently selfish.
Now, where does producing offspring fit into this? We rarely need them (even back in the day), they make us work to care for them…hell, if orgasms weren’t built into our biological system, it would just be work to create children!
If fucking didn’t feel good, for men and women, our species would have died out many, many centuries ago.
