We are looking for poems to include in new anthologies, all due out in 2014. Check out the URL below for details of how to get involved with our motherhood, fatherhood, homesickness and exile, and female friendship anthologies.
GENERAL SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Do the poems need to be unpublished?
It’s fine if your poems have been previously published, but please do check with those publications that you still hold the rights to your poems and can licence us to publish them again.
Will I get feedback if my submission is unsuccessful?
I’m afraid not.You’ll receive a receipt from the inbox to confirm that your submission has arrived, so do check your spam folder for that and check you’ve sent it to the right address if the receipt hasn’t arrived within a couple of hours.
What happens if you do like my poems?
We will arrange to meet up/Skype with you to get to know you a bit and discuss your poem(s).
Will I get any money?
The Emma Press is a new operation and we can’t afford very much by way of payment, but we do believe that writers should be paid for their work so we are offering a one-off payment of £20 per poet.
And finally . . .
We only publish poems which we utterly love and believe in, which means the matter of what we publish will always come down to our personal tastes. If we can’t publish your work, it’s not a judgment on the quality of your writing so much as a reflection of our personal preferences in writing.
