Submit your concurrent session, research brief or poster idea by Monday January 6, 2014
We invite you to participate in the conference as a presenter of a concurrent session, research paper or poster.
The Guelph Sexuality Conference is recognized as Canada’s leading, annual training and education forum for sexual health professionals. The Conference will be attended by professionals, practitioners and researchers including medical and public health professionals, community service providers, health and sexuality educators, teachers, therapists, counselors, clergy, nurses, and doctors.
The program is dedicated to understanding the complexities of human nature and celebrating sexuality with dignity and respect. The conference provides an opportunity to learn, share knowledge, network, collaborate, enhance skills, inspire, exchange resources, and renew our commitment to sexual health.
2014 is the International Year of the Family; this inspires the theme for our 36th Annual Conference. As such, we welcome presentations which celebrate and support family diversity. We conceptualize family broadly to include families of origin, families of choice, and everything in between and outside of these margins.
As always, the Guelph Sexuality Conference focuses on professional development related to a wide-range sexual health topics. Thus, we also welcome proposals to present cutting-edge, evidence-based educational programs, interventions, or research projects addressing aspects of sexual and reproductive health. Submissions for workshops, research and poster presentations are invited.
Concurrent Sessions
There will be up to 30 concurrent sessions available. Presentation can reflect the conference theme and/or focus on professional development related to a wide-range of sexual health topics. We welcome proposals focused on a program or educational intervention, and provide an opportunity to share methodology, practices and techniques. Concurrent sessions are 90 minutes in length.
Research Briefs
Research briefs offer researchers an opportunity to present their final research results. Your research must be completed at the time of the conference. Each research brief will be provided with 30 minutes within a 90 minute session. Research Briefs are scheduled on both days of the conference.
Poster Presentations
Poster presentations offer researchers a unique opportunity to present current research, a significant work in progress, or aspects of a sexual health promotion program in a graphical format. Conference delegates with a range of expertise will have the opportunity to review and discuss your research.
Posters will be displayed from 8:00 am Thursday June 19th until the conference close at 4:30 pm on Friday June 20th.
Last year, we introduced 10 minute presentations of posters at lunch time. The response was excellent. As such, successful posters will be assigned a 10 minute presentation time to present key findings. We request you be available to discuss your research and answer questions during conference lunch breaks.
Submit your proposal online
Submissions for the conference will only be accepted through the online application process.
Proposal submissions are due Monday January 6, 2014.
