Check out this very interesting (though admittedly limited) by Dr. Justin Lehmiller consideration of sexual attraction changes throughout the year. Personally, as someone who lives in the northern half of the world, I find these results very curious. It seems heterosexual men are more attracted to women’s bodies throughout the winter months. Lehmiller offers some ideas based on the research to support this, but I’ve got another. Heterosexual men have well-known and widely varied appreciations of various types of women’s clothes, including footwear, types of skirts and dresses, pants, etc. In the winter months, men see more of these. You’d think, given the prevalence of porn and “skin mags” that nudity or near nudity is the ultimate goal of heterosexual men, but I think men fantasize about women in various states of dress a lot more than we guess.
Coincidentally, I’ve been thinking on this before…and with autumn having arrived in full-force, I like what I get to see out there.
