Sex Offender Advocacy?

This is a very difficult and controversial subject.

It could be argued that sex offenders should be guaranteed rights and freedoms. Like other criminals, they should be presumed to have served their time, served their penalty and then released, without further punitive measures.

But it could certainly be argued that sex crimes are not like other crimes. That sex crimes are, as some in the article suggest, more akin to murder. Perhaps even worse as victims live with the crime for the rest of their lives.

There are movements to ensure prisoner rights and safeties but there are also movements to ensure that sexual offenders are charged, convicted and not given slaps on the wrist.

Very, very complex.
