WWE Wrestler Darren Young Comes Out—A Watershed Moment for Sexuality and Pro Wresting?

Very interesting to see Darren Young—a noteworthy, but not prominent, professional wrestler—come out. Will this help others do the same? I’ve put much thought and some research into the subject of queer pro wrestlers and I think this could do the industry some good. Homophobic angles are pretty rare these days, but might they push Darren as a gay man, publicly? This might be the time for it to happen. Would he just be squashed and held back? Could he be elevated in the business, even win a championship? Time will tell…
Whatever happens, I hope Darren, who I have always thought has great potential, keeps those happy feelings and revels in his positive attitude. While there have been a few queer wrestlers in the past, none have come out in such a way, so he is definitely breaking new ground.
