I agree with Dr. Trina Read here on sex addiction. What little is known does seem to point more toward obsessive compulsive behaviour, personal/relationship issues and differing practices from societal expectations.
And while I love how strong Trina writes on the topic, I do wonder if her one point does possibly indicate a change for the future.
At this point there is little to no empirical data on sex addiction. But with the burgeoning interest on sexology, it seems a natural that there will be more studies done on people exhibiting addiction-like characteristics when it comes to sex.
