It used to be fun finding new writing gigs and getting paid. Now there are plenty of gigs…but no pay.
Sigh.
Writing certainly has changed, but I’m not going to bemoan that. In ways, I have contributed to the current devaluation of writing—particularly sex writing. What goes around, comes around.
However, this is not going to stop me from asking if anyone has any leads on paid blogging or magazine writing on sex-related topics. Who is seeking pitches? Who is amenable to cold calls? Who wants an earnest, careful, attentive, research-maniac writer contributing to their publication?
Another option: paid podcasts. Do these even exist?
I know it is a hard market out there folks. Any good deed done to me will be returned in kind to the best of my ability.
