Personally, I have employed a very simple solution to this problem: I don’t ever want to talk about my exes. Not in a good way. All my bridges get burned in magnificent relationship pyres. And the embers smoulder for years and years. At this point I am friendly with most of the major ones. Incidentally, one recently reached out to me, but I haven’t responded. Those coals are still too hot.
