I just came across this post and think it is pretty fantastic. The, unfortunately, growing “men’s rights movement” scares the crap out of me and it should scare everyone else. Men still hold so much power, so much media and so much space.
At the same time, one way we can combat this is the break down the monster that is “men” by de-demonizing men. With so much that has to change in the programming of boys and men, it is nice to note that someone is saying that there are are things society needs to do, to change the perceptions of these boys and men to help them not be the predetermined demons.
Perhaps the most interesting point Alyssa Royse makes is about make sex writers and bloggers. Made me think. How many do I know that aren’t, somehow, queer-identified? Really, there aren’t many. And indeed, those who are, are more often attacked.
