Loch Ness Monster? Sasquatch? Nope, Female Sexuality is the Most Mythical

And I don’t mean that female sexuality doesn’t exist…of course it does! But can you think of a more divisive topic? All over the world people are perplexed, confused, bewildered and for the most part, entirely uneducated when if comes to women’s sexuality. People grow up not knowing anatomy and hearing stereotypes and misinformation. Fortunately, Dr. Logan Levkoff contributes greatly to debunking myths and setting the record straight.

I’ve always been very confused by the willful repression and outright denial of women’s sexuality. Of course, when women are sexual, they are immediately branded “whores.” That thought gets ingrained in us, that ridiculous dichotomy.

What are some steps we can take to counter this, beyond great writing by people like Dr. Levkoff?

I keep a very keen ear out to what my daughters say about women, especially their own peers. This can start so young that I hope to head it off. Hell, I hope they don’t ever think this away about other girls! I also have great hope that if they hear other teens—boys or girls—degrading women about sex or denying women sexual existence that they will speak up. I hope…

As a completely ridiculous sidenote, I have recently learned that people have spotted Sasquatch in my area AND I’ve been to Loch Ness. Haven’t seen anything yet, but, you know, there’s hope…
