Do You Have A Soulmate?

This is a very interesting piece on a concept some people really hold on to and others dismiss entirely. Although as Kristen Mark, PhD discovered in her research (and other studies), a whole bunch of people really do believe everyone has a soul mate.

Two things really stick out in this research. The first is that more men believe in “the one” than women which seems to discredit the old stereotype of the “jump ’em then dump ’em” dude. The other is that people who believe there is one special person out there tend to walk away from relationships with difficulties because they believe that person must not be “the one.”

That second idea is terribly sad to me. Maybe I’m just emotional today, but if you’re able to quickly walk away from someone you cared about…did you ever really care? And if you’re able to walk away to continually chase the soulmate dragon…what might you be missing out on?
