Seriously though, NIMBYism is just so appalling to me. I don’t have such an issue with gentrification though. If businesses and their clients were the ones that transformed the Queensway (or any area) then I think that is legit. People go where they can get the products and services they want. But when government is involved in shaping areas to keep out undesirables—businesses and individuals—then that just speaks to our continued class system. And sex-related businesses and individuals are always a class that is forced out.
