I like interviewing people. I like meeting new personalities and hearing new points of view. Most of the time my subjects drift off and we never interact again. Sometimes I, to be honest, dislike people after I interview them. And sometimes I quite enjoy them.
While I wouldn’t say we were friends, I enjoyed the few talks I did have with Matt, aka Mad Scientist from Kink Engineering. Maybe it was because I didn’t meet him as an interview subject. He and Marika attended a workshop I ran and we chatted for a good long while after it ended. After that I learned what their business was. And consequently, I wanted to and ended up interviewing them on Sex City and on this blog.
Again, we weren’t good friends but Matt was a sincere, nice, bright, funny and interesting fellow to talk to whenever our paths crossed. I am saddened to hear of his sudden passing. My deepest condolences to Marika.
