More Sex Before Marriage = Less Happy Marriage?

I think Dr. Justin Lehmiller and Dr. Jim McNulty hit it here in critiquing this study on increased premarital sex being a a factor in unhappy marriages. They note it wasn’t peer-reviewed and that even the researchers note the analysis was “arbitrary.” I’ll add that it was brought forward by a group called The National Marriage Project whose mission is “is to provide research and analysis on the health of marriage in America, to analyze the social and cultural forces shaping contemporary marriage, and to identify strategies to increase marital quality and stability.”
