My Latest Sex Stories We Love: Banned in the UK, Bad Ass Parenting, and Male Birth Control

I spend a lot of time reading about sex, but writing my bi-weekly column Sex Stories We Love for Kinkly (shared with the amazing Bobbie Morgan) has given me an entirely new perspective on what sex news is. I mean, I collect sex news every week to share, but when it comes down to picking just a handful of items to discuss in the column, I have a really hard time! Sex news is everywhere. Sex in everywhere. Sex opinion and education and discussion is everywhere. And that is awesome! This week on Sex Stories We Love, I get into the …

My Latest Sex Stories We Love: Let’s Talk Labels—on Kinkly

Labels, when it comes to sex and sexuality, might be the ultimate Catch-22. We don’t really like them, but we kinda find them necessary. This week in Sex Stories We Love, I discuss posts about asexuality, bottoming and sex addiction as well as the vag vs clit debate, sexspeak and a campus nudie mag!

The Scientific Interest in Sex

Does your body shape indicate what type of sex (and sex parts) you have? I just came across this older piece by one of my favourite sex writer Kate Hakala. One part of me is always a bit a surprised that some of these things are actually being observed and studied. But the other part of me looks at findings and correlations and thinks, “damn good thing people are studying this!” We are still learning so much about sex and sexuality. I remain shocked that these took such a backseat in terms of study for so long. Of course, we …

Ban Fraternities Because of Sexual (and other) Violence

Being someone who is not at all into “joining” or “belonging,” the idea of fraternities just doesn’t do anything for me. Now, after reading this piece about the alarming rates of sexual assault and other notable transgressions, I am all for doing away with this stupid tradition. I recently ranted to my special lady friend about the emphasis placed on frosh week at universities and colleges—why don’t people just go to school to learn? Same with frats. Go to class, go to the library, go out with friends. Don’t rely on some group of people to somehow prop you up. …

Is Spanking Inherently Sexual?

WOW! This excellent piece by Jillian Keenan on the sexual nature of spanking has blown my mind. I found it and bookmarked it to read this morning and now my day is going to be filled with this incredible debate: Is there a difference between spanking of a sexual manner and the act parents do to children? My spanking background: I was not spanked as a child (I don’t think) and I did not ever spank my children (just not my belief system). I do include spanking in my sexual play, both giving and receiving. In that play, it is …
