What can we do to prevent future suicides like that of Alyssa Funke?

What can we do, as a sex community and as community at large to help people understand that sex work, in all its forms, is work?

How can we stop people from bullying, harassing and harming people involved in sex work—while they may, at the same time, be consumers of that person’s work?

I know a major cultural shift has to happen. I know attitudes have to change. I know it is an uphill battle that is going to be challenged by so many.

But it has to change. These incidents have to stop. Sex work needs to be respected for what it is: work.

Sex work is a viable career choice.

Sex work puts food on tables.

Sex work funds educations.

Sex work pumps money back into local and national economies.

Sex work can be gratifying, satisfying and a community service.

Sex work has always been here and will continue to be here until the end of time.

So what can we do?
